Our pre-school is open school terms only in line with the NSW Department of Education and Communities.
An enrolment fee is paid when the child is enrolled and is non-refundable. Fee rates are available on application.
Fee relief is available to families on a pension, low income, culturally and linguistically diverse background, Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent or hold a health care card.
Child Care Benefit for Registered Care: Kurri Kurri Pre-school is classed as “Registered Care”. You may be entitled to claim child care benefit for registered care if you are working, studying or training at some time during the week when the care is provided. Claim forms are available at the office or on the internet: www.centrelink.gov.au, then type “claim for child care benefit for registered care forms” in the search box, then follow links.
Kurri Kurri Pre-school employs university qualified teachers and TAFE trained educators.
The management committee is made up from parents and members of our community who help govern the pre-school. A parent from each family must attend the annual general meeting which is held in MARCH.
The management team is made up of a president, vice-president, secretary, assistant secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer . The parent body is made up from all parents who accept nomination into this position.
Each position on the management team is declared vacant at the annual general meeting where nominations are taken from the floor. These positions are voted on by all financial members.
Please note all parents are financial members. The charge for this is $2.00 and is included in your child’s enrolment fee.
The committee meets once a month to make important decisions affecting the running of the pre-school.
Parents who take on a position must comply with the guidelines set down by the Department of Families and Community Services.
The nominated supervisor is an ex officio and has no voting rights.
Children's names can be placed on our waiting list the year they turn 2.
We are licensed for children who are 3-5 years of age. Any child who is eligible to attend school in the following year can attend pre-school. These children are given priority.
Enrolment letters are sent out to families in September prior to the year of attendance.
