Waiting List
Children will be placed on a waiting list the year they turn 2 years old. By placing the child's name on the waiting list does not guarantee enrolment. Names can be placed on the waiting list by phone or by visiting the pre-school.
Enrolment at the pre-school is in accordance with the Department of Community Services guidelines ie. Preference is given to children in their last year prior to school entry. In addition, children attending in any year will have priority for the following year.
Children with Disabilities
Children with disabilities will be accepted after meetings with parents, other professionals and Authorised Supervisor.
Children with disabilities may be enrolled in the centre, providing centre staff are able to meet the particular needs of that child.
Prior to enrolment, parents, other professionals working with the child and the Authorised Supervisor will meet to discuss aims, goals, and specific needs of the child.
Acceptance of this child's enrolment is dependant on available and ongoing special needs funding and suitable staff.
Enrolment Procedures
Enrolment letters and application for Enrolment are to be sent to parents 2 weeks before interviews.
Parents of children eligible for a position will be required to attend an interview at the pre-school to finalise enrolment. If the allocated appointment cannot be kept the parent must return the completed form, all relevant documents, fee and preference days to the pre-school prior to the interview date. The information will be then slotted in at allocated interview time.
Parents will be required to complete information forms as required by Departmental regulations. These must be taken to the interview.
Mid-Year placements will be made when vacancies occur. Placements after the start of Term 4 will be made at the Authorised Supervisor's discretion.
